Brogdon Endorses District 27 Republican

Josh Cockroft running for State House District 27 received a nice little nugget along the campaign trail:  an endorsement from former gubernatorial candidate and tea party darling - Sen. Randy Brogdon.

At the age of 21, Cockroft is one of the youngest candidates to run for office this year. He managed to gather 744 votes, or 38.10 percent, according to the Oklahoma State Election Board's unofficial results.  On Aug. 24, he will face Richard Bennett in a runoff for the party's nomination.   Bennett, received 456 votes, with 23.35 percent, enough to advance to the runoff with Cockroft.
The winner of the primary on Aug. 24, will face Democrat Chris Odneal in the general election.
