It's a Beautiful Day in This Neighborhood

The Eastern Oklahoma Juggernaut that is U.S. Senator Dr. Tom Colburn has drawn himself a general election opponent - Mr. Rogers.

Mr. Jim Rogers never looked back in his primary against Mark Myles with a win of 65% of the Democratic vote last Tuesday.  He did it with style - hand made signs and t-shirts.  Mr. Rogers files every year he can and this year, the name recognition finally paid off.

He will not have much support from the state Democratic Party, as a matter of fact the chairman Todd Goodman has said he doesn't expect this to be a spirited campaign.  Also, there is no word yet if the Myles for Senate campaign has endorsed Jim Rogers.

The self proclaimed college professor is the second candidate in the nation to virtually come out of nowhere to get the nomination for the Democratic Party in a Senate race, the other was Alvin Greene in South Carolina.

It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I suspect that even Dr. Colburn might even be caught walking around whistling this tune.  Let's see if Oklahoma wants to be part of Jim's neighborhood.

By the way, if he shows up to a debate and changes into a sweater and a pair of sneakers, I just might lose it!
